Lombard Mandolin Carlo Albertini

This Lombard mandolin features simple yet refined craftsmanship, highlighted by characteristic floral decorations on its sides and bridge, semicircular mother-of-pearl inlays on the edges, soundhole, and pegbox, and rhomboid inlays on the fretboard.
The bowl is formed from 13 ribs of maple and stained wood, featuring a rather round and robust shape. However, it displays several still-open cracks and other very noticeable repairs.
The pickguard, likely made of ebony, shows numerous cracks. Unlike other Albertini mandolins built on the same model, it lacks decorative inlays. The bridge also differs from other Albertini instruments and might be a more recent addition.
